How to install drivers only for HTC EVO 4g on Windows 7 x64

 

Download HTC Sync from HTC’s support site http://www.htc.com/us/support/evo-sprint/downloads/

 

Do a “custom” install and deselect both "Application Installer” and “Sync Manager”. Click next and allow to install. This installed HTC Sync (boo) and the driver.

 

Uninstall HTC Sync from Programs and Features, this leaves just the driver in place. Check with the command “adb devices” from your android SDK install location.

    As of May 7 2012, the HTC download for Evo 4G first installs the drivers. Then you can simply cancel the next phase of the installation. Super easy.

Starting an Activity from ItemizedOverlay

I while back I wanted to be able to start an Activity from a class that extended ItemizedOverlay. Since ItemizedOverlay does not extend Activity I couldn't call startActivity() in order to start a new Activity when the onTap() method is executed. So after much searching on the internet I found my answer. Only thing is I don't have enough "reputation" on stackoverflow to vote up this particular answer.
